AhlulBayt News Agency - The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) – imposed full control over three hilltops near Jabal Al-Mazar on Tuesday after a violent battle with the self-proclaimed Islamic State (ISIS) militants in the northeastern countryside of Palmyra (Tadmur).
According to a military source in the area, the Syrian Armed Forces advanced east towards the Mustadura Gas Fields after pushing through the Islamic State defenses near Jabal Al-Mazar on Tuesday.
The Mustadura Gas Fields are situated just 8 km west of the targeted village of ‘Arak in east Homs.
If the Syrian Armed Forces are able to liberate the Mustadura Gas Fields from the Islamic State, then they will be in position to strike the village of ‘Arak from two different flanks (west and north).
